Happy Monday! I can’t believe it’s officially April. This year is flying by. I took my graduation pictures this weekend with my friends and it officially hit us that we’re graduating. We’re less than fifty days out… and the panic is starting to hit. But, since the weather is getting warmer and the flowers around campus are blooming, I’ve really enjoyed being outside and taking everything in. How was your weekend?

This week is hopefully not going to be as hectic as I anticipate, but I know that I have a huge assignment due the following week so I’ll probably be working on that the entire week. I’m also hoping for some good news the first half of the week (maybe even today) which has turned me into a nervous, yet excited, mess the past couple days.

Over the course of March I was posting every Monday, Wednesday and Friday which was a big accomplishment for me! I’m going to talk about it a little more in my April goals past coming on Wednesday but I am very proud of myself for it. I’m definitely planning on keeping to that schedule and maybe, maybe try to post every week day at some point. My biggest problem is coming up with unique post ideas. With that being said, if you guys have suggestions I would love to hear them! Or if you have any tips for coming up with ideas I’d love to hear those too. 🙂

I hope you guys have a great Monday!

My Job & Internship Interview Tips

As the school year starts winding down, the hunt for jobs and internships begin. I went through the internship search this time last year and am currently on the job search, so I’ve been having a lot of informational interviews. While I haven’t gone through the full job-interview process, I think I have enough experience to provide some (hopefully) helpful tips.

+ Rehearse your answers
It’s impossible to know the exact questions the interviewer will ask, but there are a couple basic questions that will probably be asked at the start. Such as, Why this field?, What are you currently involved with, or Explain this your _ internship. If you have these answers prepared ahead of time, it’s less likely to use filler words such as “um” or “like”.

+ Have your resume in-front of you
This may be obvious, but I like to have it with me so I can know exactly what my interviewer is talking about if they bring it up. I haven’t done an in-person interview yet, but whenever I’m on the phone I have it on my computer so I don’t forget an aspect of a previous job or something that I mentioned on it.

+ Come up with questions beforehand
Whether your interview is over the phone, Skype or in-person, it’s important to have some questions to ask the person. My go-to’s are How would you describe the culture of the company? or What is a typical day like for someone in this position? These are super simple, but I find that they allow the person to elaborate on their answer! It’s important to ask open-ended questions so you get plenty of information.

+ Send a thank you note
I think this is the most important one. I try to send out a handwritten thank you note either that day (depending on what time it was) or the following day. That way it arrives in a couple days. Everyone I’ve spoken to about job advice stresses this, saying that it really means a lot to the person and shows how serious about the position you are. These people also gave up their time to speak to you, and you don’t want them to think you weren’t appreciative.

What are your interview tips? I’d love to hear them!

KL Polish Review

I don’t know about you guys, but I tend to stick to the main nail polish brands (OPI, Essie, and China Glaze). But when I saw that one of my favorite YouTubers Kathleen Lights released her own line, KL Polish, I knew I had to try it out. Not only are the colors gorgeous but they all have really cute and clever names!

I purchased all of the colors including the shade that came out on her birthday which is a beautiful glitter.

One of my favorite things about this range is how opaque the colors are. I just need one coat! I prefer two personally, but if you’re in a rush you can just swipe one coat and you’re good to go. They also dry incredibly fast, which is even better for being on the go. My least favorite thing about painting my nails is having to stop whatever I’m doing in order to do so without messing them up. See for yourself how beautiful these shades are!

These polishes claim to stay on for around five or so days without chipping, maybe even a week for some people. I will say, that this is one of the first times my nails haven’t chipped after two days! These polishes really are durable and won’t just chip off after a couple hours, but of course that also depends on what you’re doing during the day.

Have you tried the KL Polish range, or any other products that other YouTubers have created? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

These nail polishes are for sale on klpolish.com for $8.50.

Happy Monday! Spring break is officially over, which means the countdown to graduation is officially on. Now that I’m back from Florida and being in the sun, I’m craving fuzzy blankets, candles and reading. I brought my iPad back to school with me, and thanks to my friend Jenna I have some great book recommendations!

One of my favorite things about being home is spending time with my pets. My family has four dogs, two cats and two birds so it always feels like coming home to a zoo. I was most excited to see my cat, Luna. She slept in my bed with me basically every night that I spent at home. After graduation I’m planning on bringing her with me wherever I move and I think myself, as well as my parents, are super excited for that. They love having all the animals around, but sometimes it can get a little too crazy.

How have you all been? It feels like forever since I actually wrote a post and read other blogs since being gone for over a week, but I’m so excited to be back! I did schedule posts while I was gone but nothing is better than sitting down and catching up. I can’t wait to plan out my posts for the week later after class.

As mentioned, graduation is going to be here before I know it. I want to do some graduation-oriented posts, but need recommendations! Feel free to leave those below or tweet them to me (@lifewithkendal).

As I say every Monday, I hope you guys all have a great Monday and start to your week!

My Favorite Songs from Ed Sheeran’s ‘Divide’

If you’re anything like me, you may be listening to Ed Sheeran’s ‘Divide‘ religiously since it came out at the beginning of the month. Now that I’ve had some time to listen to the album several times (and in reality I mean many, many times), I definitely have my favorite songs! I thought it would be fun to share my personal favorites and see if we have the same ones (if you’ve listened to it).

I heard this song and immediately knew that it was going to be another one of his that is used in weddings. Is that weird? I love it nonetheless. It’s just a cute and romantic song that I’m always a sucker for.

Galway Girl
Now I think this one is a popular favorite, but the second I heard it I knew I loved it. This is a song that I blast in the car and can’t help but sing along to! I think, like Eraser, it’s a little different to him but it’s still catchy and fun to sing along to with friends.

New Man
I can’t help but laugh whenever I hear the beginning of this song! It’s funny and jabs against a prior girlfriend’s new boyfriend as he’s done in his previous songs. This is another one that is fun to blast and singalong to on long car rides.

If you’re seeing a pattern in my favorite songs, it’s because it definitely is. This is another singalong song and an overall fun song to listen to. Whenever I listen to it I can’t help but actually imagine myself in Barcelona and dancing along to it.

Nancy Mulligan
My friend Jenna looked into the backstory of this song, and it’s actually about his grandparents! It basically tells the story of how they met and their lives together. It’s a really cute song and I love the storytelling that it does.

Have you listened to Ed Sheeran’s ‘Divide‘? I’d love to hear your thoughts and favorite songs!
