I’m not going to lie, the moment I heard that Jaclyn Hill and Morphe were collaborating on an eyeshadow palette I knew I had to buy it. Not only is Jaclyn one of my favorite YouTubers (and a fellow Floridian!) but Morphe’s eyeshadows are some of my favorites, as well.
It’s safe to say that the hype around this palette was real. I remember having to wait around half an hour until my order was placed and confirmed because Morphe’s website was so swamped.
This palette was completely custom created for Jaclyn. She released a video where she talks about the process that went into designing all of the shades, which you can watch here. All of the colors were created by Jaclyn herself, 35 to be exact. The colors range from neutrals to bright pops of blue and red.
I will admit, I haven’t put the bright colors to use yet. But, I’m hoping to try them in the future! I have at least swatched them and they are beautiful! Jaclyn is known for her bright, vibrant looks and I definitely want to try them out when the right opportunity comes its way. I just don’t wear bright eyeshadow on a typical day (if I’m honest).
Not only are these shades super blendable, but they are also extremely soft and vibrant. The glitter shades are absolutely gorgeous, I haven’t used one that I don’t love. The only downsides of this palette is a) there is no mirror and b) there isn’t a stark white shade. As a pale girl myself, I lean towards matte whites for my brow bone highlighter. This palette is missing that, and it’s something I’ve seen other people talk about as well.
I will say, the packaging of this palette is pretty neutral as well, which I like. It is white, so it tends to get dirtier faster, but I haven’t had a problem cleaning it. I also like how the accents are silver! Her signature on the front is foiled along with the Morphe logo. It’s super easy to travel with and it’s definitely the only eyeshadows I need to bring when I travel. It’s actually the only eyeshadow palette I’ve used since receiving it.
Is it worth the hype?
If you’re someone who doesn’t have a lot of eyeshadow palettes and want a palette that has practically every color you could imagine, then this is the palette for you. I, personally, don’t have too many palettes so I think this is a good addition to my collection. I’ll also say that if you tend to wear a lot of different colors and looks when it comes to your makeup, this will be a fun item to have. I really want to try to break into the colorful eyeshadow world… I think this palette is great for doing that. As I’ve previously mentioned, the pigmentation and formula of these shadows are amazing as well.
The Morphe X Jaclyn Hill eyeshadow palette is available at Morphe’s website and retails for $38. While it is currently out of stock, Morphe has said they anticipate a restock sometime in August.
