Happy New Year! I hope you all had fun and safe celebrations last night. I’m currently on my way home from New Hampshire where I spent the weekend with my boyfriend and some friends. While it was a fun time, it was certainly cold! I have never, never experienced a cold like it before…
I am ready to tackle this new year head first! 2017 was a year of change for me with relocating to Boston, starting a new job, moving into an apartment, etc. that I really let the tail end of the year go. I don’t know why, but the thought of 2018 starting on a Monday is something I really love… it’s like a brand new, fresh start that isn’t in the middle of a weekend or week, but instead on a Monday. It really is a fresh start!
With that being said, there are so many things that I want to accomplish in the new year that I am not slacking on. Here are my goals and resolutions for 2018! While it is a short list, I’m focusing on some overarching goals and trying to develop them into a lifestyle rather than a temporary thing.
+ Start living a healthier lifestyle
I had a very similar goal last year, but this year I am really determined to get it on track. I’ve already planned out my meals for this week and the coming one. I’m trying to introduce more natural products to my regimen like for body, haircare, food, etc. For Christmas I got an essential oils kit and it really opened my eyes to the natural and environmentally friendly ways of living (that sounds so cheesy…)
I want to try to work out at least three times a week, and definitely meal prep when I can on the weekends! I have a big problem with snacking while at work, so I also want to definitely cut back on that and try to make my own healthier snacks.
+ Get into a routine with blogging (and even YouTube)
The end of 2017 did not end well blog-wise. I stopped blogging basically altogether once I moved up to Boston, occasionally posting a couple times a month. But I am happy to say that I am on top of my game for 2018! I’ve planned out all of my posts for January, that way I can start scheduling them now and better prepare myself.
I also want to dabble in some YouTube! I have always loved watching YouTube videos myself and have always wanted to try them. Technically I have, but I never maintained them because I didn’t plan well. Here’s to a content full 2018!
+ Better practice self-care
I have found self-care to be something that is incredibly important, especially as a working professional. I have never valued ‘me time’ more than now! I really want to start meditating either in the morning or at night, have more pamper nights/treat your self-moments, etc. in the new year. I have pretty bad anxiety, and I have noticed a significant difference when I spend a little more time focusing on myself.
+ Read 12 books
I rediscovered my love for reading in 2017. While I haven’t finished the Harry Potter series just yet (only two more!) it did help me fall back in love with novels. I want to shoot for reading one book a month, to start at least, and go from there. In the meantime, if you have any recommendations for me, I would love to hear them!
